The summer season is upon us, and while Michigan may be better known for its cold winters, those who have lived here long enough know full well that our summers can get pretty intense as well. Although you are not going to experience the same kinds of road hazards that you will find during the colder months, summer still presents a number of challenges, not to mention fun activities, for which you need to get your vehicle ready. Read ahead for a quick list of some summer maintenance tips for your Chevy.

Things to check on your Chevy model before enjoying the warm weather

Check your tire pressure. The change in seasons means a change in temperatures and air conditions, which can mess around with your tire pressure. Be sure they are filled at the specifications indicated in your Chevy owner’s manual.
Check your air conditioning. On those hot and humid days where it’s practically suffocating to be outside, you’re going to need your A/C to be in good working order to keep you cool during your commute or any road trips.
Check your engine coolant. The last thing you need while you’re on your way to a summer concert is to have your engine overheat.
Get an oil change, because a fresh batch of oil will keep everything properly lubricated.
Make sure you have windshield wipers that work. You don’t want to be caught in a severe thunderstorm with windshield wipers that aren’t going to get the job done.
Give your battery a test. This is especially true if you plan to take a lot of road trips. You don’t want to be left in the dust because of a dead battery.
